The Wells Fargo Championship at Eagle Point Golf Club is now less than 80 days out. Historically, this PGA Event has enjoyed one of the strongest fields of the greatest golfers in the world and has earned the reputation as a top-tier, world class sporting event. The excitement is building for what we know will be a fun week.

Starting with the input derived from our Member Survey (conducted in June 2016), and through numerous meetings with various related entities over the last several months, we have learned a lot about the operations, logistics and member interests for the Wells Fargo Championship. Simply put, the Yacht Club intends to feed you, refresh you and help you get around the Island and back and forth to Eagle Point in a manner that is most convenient, reliable and fun. We want you to count on your Yacht Club to help provide the stage and the setting that promotes the fellowship that is central to our Club’s existence.

As this event is a “first time” for not only the Yacht Club, but Eagle Point, the city and county, and many other concerned entities, our plan has become largely based on assumptions, and where we can, facts that inform us as to interests levels. As a result, your board of directors and management staff has adopted a pre-sales/advance-reservation strategy that we believe will best minimize the risks of so many unknowns. As a Yacht Club member, whether you intend to be at your home on Figure 8 taking in many of the tournament related festivities, or not, we trust that you will understand and support our plans for the week.

To assist you in planning your week, please refer to these additional Sections of this Package:

  • Bus transportation to and from the Yacht Club and Eagle Point, running continuously from morning to nightfall, Wednesday (May 3) through Sunday (May 7).
  • NO Water-Based Club or Tournament Sponsored Transportation.
  • NO Long-Term (i.e. going to EP for the day) Parking at the Yacht Club.
  • COMPLIMENTARY Island Trolleys transporting all from various bus stops on the island - to Yacht Club – and back from 7 am – 11 pm Wednesday (May 3) through Sunday (May 7).
  • Other than the F8 Plan, the only other alternative locations to park and shuttle to Eagle Point:
    • Hampstead Spot Festival Grounds, and Downtown Wilmington.
    • We understand (but cannot verify, nor have authority) that Eagle Point members have access to parking on the mainland, with shuttles to Eagle Point.
  • Even though most tickets to the tournament include parking and transportation, this is ONLY from the Wells Fargo authorized locations that are listed above. The F8 transportation services from the Yacht Club requires you to purchase a F8 transportation package.
  • COMPLIMENTARY valet parking at the Yacht Club for all evening visits / events.
  • A week-long program of Food & Beverage Services that should accommodate the hunger, thirst and entertainment interests of you and all of your guests (details enclosed).
  • Access to reservations for dining and events and use of transportation can only be guaranteed if booked before March 3. Please return Page 5 and Page 6 to the Yacht Club by March 3.
  • Transportation packages are non-refundable.

In this communiqué you will see the details for Transportation and Food & Beverage Services at the Yacht Club for the week of May 1 to May 7. If you plan to be at Figure 8 Island during this week (regardless of your interests in the golf tournament) we urge you to become familiar with the opportunities for you to enjoy the Yacht Club. If any, OR ALL, of these activities and services are of interest to you, we ask that you confirm those interests with us NOW.
